RTD Version 8.3.0E

The following features and improvements are incorporated:

  • The TMADEFRAGMIN and CMADEFRAGMIN volume level SET statement parameters enable the DEFRAG function to be suppressed if the number of free extents on the volume being processed is less than a user specified limit.

  • MAXDATA threshold warning is now provided to alert the user when MAXDATA is nearly exhausted.

  • The RELEASE function RELEASE=MC option has been extended with the option RELEASE=MCALL to perform a RELEASE=ALL rather than RELEASE=EXT if the SMS Management Class and dataset status request RELEASE. In addition for consistency the option RELEASE=MCEXT may be also be specified with the same effect as RELEASE=MC.

  • RTD now detects the deletion of the Global Function without re-starting the STC.

  • If logging fails RTDLOG-only messages are written to the JOBLOG as closedown is occurring.

  • When selecting volumes for processing the FlashCopy and PPRC Query functions are no longer issued (unless the values are queried in the volume level specifications). This limits the period of relatively high CPU usage when filling the selected volume cache in MAS mode.

  • Message RTDD06I is now written to SYSLOG when the global function changes the configuration.

  • Message RTDL38E is now output as RTDL38I if no errors have been logged.

  • Message RTDM05I (closedown starting) now shows the RTD Version and Fix Level.

  • Message RTDV24I is no longer issued if RELEASE=CPR was specified and no PDS compress occurred.

  • The RTDISPF dialog provides a new service function to copy the content of an existing configuration to the currently selected configuration.

  • A missing initial SET statement is now diagnosed when translating a specification member in the RTDISPF dialog.

  • The RTD STC internal processing of compiled specifications has been improved to reduce path lengths and CPU usage.
